Experiment · Stage 4 · Simplified simulator
Change the environment.
This simplified grid simulator will be the world model's teacher: its runs become training data, and its output is a baseline to compare against.
Simplified simulator, not validated hydrology. The terrain is real, but the rain is invented and the physics is simplified. This shows how the model will learn, and it doesn't show what would happen to any real place.
Try a scenario
A patch of real terrain near the Kelani, about 13.8 km across, averaged to 32 by 32 cells with false pits filled. Each run lasts 6 hours in 10-minute steps. These runs were computed in advance by the simulator, and no AI is involved yet.
Loading the simulator runs.
What it leaves out
- No infiltration: water doesn't soak into the ground, so a lot stays on the surface.
- No real river: at about 430 m per cell, channels, culverts and most streets are too small to exist on the grid.
- One roughness everywhere, with water moved by surface slope alone and no inertia.
- Assumed edges: water leaves only at chosen edge cells, using an assumed slope.
- Adjusted terrain: averaging softens trees and buildings without removing them, and filling false pits also fills real hollows.
The training data
The simulator produced 9,720 state, action and next-state examples from 270 synthetic runs. 30 runs use conditions kept outside the normal range, for testing warnings later. No model has been trained on them yet. The guide explains the equations.
